JoAnn’s insurance career began in 1984 after she graduated from Fairfield University. She was very fortunate to have been hired by Chubb’s Executive Protection Department in their New Haven, CT branch. At that time, the department specialized in D&O, Fiduciary, Crime and Kidnap Ransom Insurance, and Chubb provided an excellent training and mentoring program that was perfect for a new graduate. Chubb also provided many opportunities for advancement, especially in this specialty area, and she became the New Haven Executive Protection Manager in 1985.
Chubb will always hold a special place in her heart since she met her husband, Steve Peck, in New Haven. In fact, they also met Bruce Wilson there. Little did they know that the two of them would later be two-thirds of NAP!
From New Haven, she was transferred to Kansas City and then to the home office where she served as Operations Manager for the National Department. Her last assignment with Chubb was in London, England, where she was a Unit Supervisor which included the chance to represent Chubb in a box at Lloyds.
After a move back to the US in late 1993, she decided to be a full-time, stay-at-home mom to her three children and immerse herself in volunteer and community pursuits. Insurance opportunity knocked again when New Agency Partners opened its doors in 2004 and by 2008, she was back in the industry full-time. Her roles at the agency have been everything from receptionist to HR Manager to Life Insurance Sales Support. The insurance industry has been a great place to forge a career and she’s enjoyed being involved on both the company and agency sides.
