Marla works as a Client Manager in our Group Benefits department. Her vital contribution to the team contributes to our success. Here is a quick Q & A with Marla!

What is your role at NAP?

I’m a Client Manager in the Benefits division. My responsibilities include everything from marketing and proposals to employee name changes and address updates. We’re here to service the needs of our clients however we can!

What would people never guess you do in your role?

We help people with life-changing events – big, small, good, bad – and many times, you find yourself being a friend above anything else.

What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?

My favorite part is having the ability to help people. It’s a good feeling knowing that you’ve made someone’s day a little easier.

Before working here, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

I was a legal assistant dealing primarily dealing with workers compensation. It was definitely a learning experience and ironically enough, I’ve been able to apply some of the knowledge I gained within the insurance industry.

What kinds of hobbies and interests do you have outside of work?

I truly love traveling – exploring new places and cultures, meeting new people. I’m fascinated by this great, big world we live in.

What is one thing you couldn’t live without?

My family (human and furry) and friends.

What is your hidden talent or an interesting fact about you?

Considering roller coasters really make me uneasy, most people would never guess that I’ve gone skydiving, scuba diving, whitewater rafting and waterfall rappelling.

What is your favorite movie and/or book? Why?

I love reading, so picking a favorite book would be difficult. I’ve read everything from Harry Potter to cheesy romance novels and each one holds a special place in my heart. My favorite movie is The Wizard of Oz. It has inspired me for as long as I can remember and always serves as a reminder that there really is “no place like home.”

What is your motto, personal mantra or favorite quote?

“It is what it is.” I’m not sure that it’s my favorite quote but it’s definitely the one I use the most… because sometimes, it just is what it is.

When are you happiest?

When I’m with family and friends. There is truly nothing that makes me happier.
