Nikki works as a Claims Advocate and is one of the newest members of the NAP team. She’s ready to assist clients with whatever they need when they suffer a loss. Here is a quick Q & A with Nikki!
What is your role at NAP?
I am a Claims Advocate. When a client has determined that they have a loss, I offer guidance and reassurance that the claim will be handled professionally and accurately. I do so by being involved with each claim from the beginning by submitting the claim to the insurance carrier and working with the adjuster and the insured on the details until the closing of the claim.
What would people never guess you do in your role?
Although Claims Advocate is my main role, I assist in Personal Lines and also help with administrative duties.
What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?
Learning – every day I learn something new. No two claims are alike and it’s wonderful to be able to assist clients and coworkers with whatever they may need.
Before working here, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
I grew up and live in a lake community and this is my first year being the Financial Secretary on the Board. It is going to be interesting to see the other side of being a member of the association.
What kinds of hobbies and interests do you have outside of work?
I love the outdoors, whether it’s hiking and seeing the world around me or sitting in the yard in my favorite lounge chair reading a book.
What is one thing you couldn’t live without?
Music! I don’t watch too much TV but the radio is always on.
What is your hidden talent or an interesting fact about you?
I enjoy taking photos of nature, especially birds, flowers, butterflies, deer, and sometimes bears when they are passing through.
What is your favorite movie and book? Why?
I have many favorite authors, so I couldn’t pick just one book… James Paterson, Tami Hoag, Lisa Scottoline to name a few. I enjoy the suspense and their books are hard to put down.
What is your motto, personal mantra, or favorite quote?
Just be… Wherever you go, there you are. It’s a reminder to not get caught up in your thoughts and enjoy what’s around you.
When are you happiest?
Whenever I am spending time with my husband and cats.
